See You All in 2015

Hi Lovlies,

First of all I want to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas! Things have been a little bit busy here lately (if you haven't noticed the lack of blog posts), but I'm hoping that a little RnR will be exactly what I need to start the new year with a bang.

My family and I are taking a little break for a few weeks and my normal blog posts will return to normal mid January. You can follow me on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date what I'm up to.

Here is a little sneak peak of what's in my travel makeup bag. Can I just say that I'm really proud of myself with what I've packed!

I hope you all have a wonderful start to the new year with your loved ones and I can't wait to discover what 2015 has in store!

2015 New Years Resolutions

Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous posted on Instagram that she read 50 books in 2014. It got me thinking. I love reading, always have but when I thought about it, I realised that I had read 1 book in 2014. How very very sad especially from someone who used to read on a daily basis whenever the opportunity present itself. I guess once you get married and have kids you have other priorities and put those hobbies such as reading aside and hope to come back to it one day.

After I commented on Tine's photo on Instagram she told me to take on the challenge and read 10 books in 2015, and you know what I'm going to do it! It's a great new years resolution, that's also enjoyable unlike the usually losing weight, eating healthy, drinking more water, exercising (ahem yes they're all part as well). You get the gist.

I've joined Goodreads a few weeks ago and I would love to have a sneak peak at what you're currently reading or wanting to read in the future, so leave a comment below, email me, IG me or send me a PM on Facebook so that I can add you to my friend list.

Here are my current books that I have purchased and are waiting to be read.

I heart Vegas, I heart London, I heart Christmas by Lindsey Kelk - I've read all the other books and can't wait to get stuck into these.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - I think it's one of the most talked about books/movies of 2014 and I'm yet to read it. I started!

Captivated by You by Sylvia Day - I've read the other 3 books of the Crossfire series and I couldn't wait for this one to be released. This is what I'm currently reading.

Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruis Zafon - I've read a few this authors books and I have to say even though it's not chick lit it's amazing! His writing is captivating and sucks you into the story. I read the book The Shadow of the Wind in 3 days.

Strictly Confidential, The Rumour Mill, In the Spotlight by Roxy Jacenko - what can I say? She's a successful Aussie who seems to turn things to gold! I can't wait to read her books.

Shopaholic to the Stars by Sophie Kinsella - Chicklit at it's finest! I haven't been able to resist any of the other Shopaholic Books and this one is definitely new on my reading list.

What is your favourite book of 2014?

NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret Review & Swatches

Put your hands up if you're loving all the beautiful gift sets that all the beauty brands release for Christmas!! Hubby and I don't do presents for each other and he's hopeless at picking anything up so I get to spoil myself for Christmas and my birthday considering that is exactly 2 weeks after Christmas. I normally buy my favourite perfume but since my mum got some for me in August, I decided that this beautiful NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Set is the perfect choice. I personally haven't tried any of the NARS lip pencils so I'm excited to be able to try out a range of formulations and shades that range from natural to bold.

I purchased my set at Mecca Cosmetica and it retails for $65. For that you get 5 "jumbo mini pencils" in some of their best selling shades for 0.5-0.6oz each (approx 1.7g). This is an amazing price considering the full sized version here in Australia costs $34 for an extra 0.2g of product. You pretty much get 5 products for the price of two and the limited edition packaging is an added bonus.

Descanso (Satin Finish) is another limited edition colour and is a more natural Peach colour.

Torres del Paine (Satin Finish) is a limited edition colour and is a Peachy Coral.

Yu (Satin Finish) is a best selling colour for Nars. It is bright pink with blue undertones and perfect if you want a statement lip without feeling too crazy with the colour.

Iberco (Matte Finish) is also a limited edition colour. It's bright orange with blue undertones.

Cruella (Matte Finish) is also a permanent colour and is a classic bright red with blue undertones.

Overall I think this Limited Edition Nars Digital World Lip Set is worth the purchase not only for it's value but the quality of these lip crayons is amazing. They are worth the hype and are extremely pigmented and long lasting. You better be quick to purchase these as they are slowly selling out in stores.

Have you tried any of the Limited Edition Nars products?

Rimmel London Provocalips Review & Swatches

Who’s ready for a lipstick/stain/gloss that lasts the whole day, is kiss proof and that you can sleep in without leaving any smudges behind?

Top to Bottom: Rimmel Provocalips 550 Play with Fire, 500 Kiss me you Fool, 230 Kiss Fatal, 310 Little Minx, 200 I'll Call You, 110 Dare to Pink, 730 Make Your Move, 700 Skinny Dipping

I was so excited to receive these gorgeous Rimmel Londong Provocalips by the wonderful girls from Coty PR and couldn't wait to try them.

The Packaging
The packaging is playful and youthful. It is double ended. One side is the liquid lipstick and the other side is the gloss.

The Product
There are 8 shades which are variations of reds, pinks, plum tones and nudes.
The liquid lipstick is slightly runny and any excess needs to be wiped off the applicator or things can get very messy. Once you apply it to you lips, like many other similar products you need to wait for a few seconds for it to dry and feel slightly tacky on the lips.
Then you apply the sealing top coat which gives you shine like a gloss but it feels like a lip balm.
I applied this in the morning about 7am and did what I normally do. Eat breakfast, go to work, gym (yep I was that girl in the gym with lipstick on), kissing my kiddies, lunch and dinner and i even did a kissing test with hubby (for review purposes of cause). The colour did not budge. I did have to apply the top coat a few times as my lips were feeling dry but that's not a deal breaker for me. I saw a lot of reviews online where people said they couldn't remove the colour at the end of the night. I didn't have that problem. I wore the colour 200 I'll Call You (totally my new favourite) and it looked amazing all day and it came of with my Garnier Micellar Water.

L - R: Rimmel Provocalips 550 Play with Fire, 500 Kiss me you Fool, 230 Kiss Fatal, 310 Little Minx, 200 I'll Call You, 110 Dare to Pink, 730 Make Your Move, 700 Skinny Dipping

Excuse the bad picture quality. My camera just wouldn't focus that day for some reason.

My Verdict
The product is comfortable to wear. I kinda forgot i even had it on at one point. It's not as drying as some other similar products and when Rimmel London says that its got 16 hours lasting power you better believe it.
If I didn't have all the colours already i would definitely be buying these. These would be perfect for brides and bridesmaids and those who love wearing lipsticks that are out there but don't want to worry too much about touching it up throughout the day.
At $17.95 I think this is an essential in every makeup bag because we all need a good quality long lasting lip product.

Have you tried the Rimmel London Provocalips? What did you think? What is your favourite colour?

Marsala: Pantone Colour of the Year 2015

I'll be the first one to admit that when Pantone announced their colour of the year for 2015 I wasn't too impressed, but I'm happy to say that the colour is growing on me.

Here is what Pantone has to say about it.

PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala

Interesting on its own and a wonderful contrast for other hues, PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala serves as the foundation to the Spring/Summer 2015 palette. Sensual and bold, delicious Marsala is a daringly inviting tone that nurtures; exuding confidence and stability while feeding the body, mind and soul. Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this robust shade incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness.

This colour would look beautiful teamed with cream, turquoise, baby blue, baby pink you name it. The options are endless.

Here are a few goodies that I found in the colour to be seen in for 2015.

Urban Decay - Naked 3 Palette
Stila Eyeshadow - Mahogany
Yves Saint Laurent Cabas Chyc Bag - Burgundy Deerskin
MAC Lipstick - Party Line
Essie Nailpolish - In Stitches
Urban Decay Lipstick - Strip

What do you think about this years colour selection? Will you wear it?

Australis AC ME Eyeshadow in Jay Zed Review, Swatches and Makeup Look

I have been searching my little heart out to find these Australis AC ME Eyeshadows. I accidentally stumbled across one (yep ONE) in my local Big W and just grabbed it!

That same day I had my work christmas party and I wanted to use this eyeshadow but I didn't want a dark smokey eye so instead decided to try and use this gorgeous product as an eyeliner. Let me tell you, I'm so glad that I tried to use this as a none traditional way because I've never had a more perfect line and it lasted surprisingly a long time, 13 hours to be exact. Pity I had to remove my makeup. I would have loved to see how much longer it would have lasted.

Why am I loving this eyeshadow? It's the texture. It's so unique. At first I thought it was a typical cream eyeshadow but when I put my finger in there I was pleasantly surprised how different the texture was. It's very soft almost mousse like but it's cream. It's so easy to blend and is buildable. It's also perfect as a cream eyeliner (does that even exist?)

The colour that I have is called Jay Zed and is a beautiful Khaki with gold glitter. Adult glitter that is! This is such a beautiful colour for those with brown or hazel eyes. It instantly brightens your eyes and gives them that sparkle.

I teamed this look with slightly wavy hair and a little black shift dress and wedges. It was the perfect makeup/outfit combo for this party season.

I hope I can eventually get hold of the other 2 colours in this collection called Plum Daddy and Bronzonce because I'm loving this one so far and the others would be a great addition to my makeup collection.

Have you tried these eyeshadows and what did you think of them?

Festive Season Smokey Makeup Look

With the festive season finally here, that means only one thing! Christmas Parties, BBQ's, Drink with friends and family. Here is a simple everyday glam makeup look that can easily take you from your work desk to your night out.

Step 1: Apply primer and foundation.  In summer I stick to more sheer lightweight foundations. In this look I've used the Benefit Porefessional Primer and the LancĂ´me Teint Visionaire Foundation.

Step 2: Contour, Highlight and Blush. I used the Australis AC on Tour Contour and Highlighting Palette in this look.   I like keeping my blush fairly natural in summer and the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Blush in Warm Soul is just perfect for that.

Step 3: The Eyes. I used my Stila "In the Light" Palette to create this look. Stila makes some amazing eyeshadows that are beautifully pigmented and long lasting. I then applied two coats of the L'Oreal False Lash Butterfly Wings Mascara. I didn't put eyeliner on because I wanted to keep this look slightly more natural and easy to do if you're in a rush.

Step 4: Lips! On the lips I used the Napoleon Perdis LipLiner in Nude Awakening followed by a tiny bit of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 06.

What is your favourite Spring/Summer Makeup Look?
